Observations; Random Tidbits

Posted on

• Just because we have one lonely sixty degree day in the middle of February, does not give you the right to break out the capris. It will be 35 degrees tomorrow. You are wasting your time. And also—you look kind of dumb.
• It drives me nuts when people say Feb-U-ary. I know this is probably the common pronunciation, but I can not get past it.
• There was this guy at work though, who at Christmas time used to tell customers to “Have a happy holidays.” That was probably the all time most annoying. How can you have A days???? (Happy New Years falls in here too.)
• Lucy changes her clothes 6 times a day sometimes. And I let her. Really, who is it hurting?
• I think I mentioned my mother watching the kids 2 days a week now. My mother made a big deal about having an exersaucer for Liv, and Hub and I said, really, why bother buying one, because she’ll only use it for a few more months. My parents went out and bought one with a ridiculous amount of bells and whistles even though we told them not to. Well, the baby is terrified of the thing. I can’t help but to laugh. TeeHee. I’m sure she’ll get used to it.
• Speaking of the baby, she is a fiend for anything we are eating. She had bites of sloppy joes and veggies from Hub’s beef stew last night. I would have keeled over before considering giving the big kids table food when they were her age. She is growing up way too fast.

  1. *You should be my friend. I say Feb-RU-ary. *I was a nut about what my kids could and could not eat, too. I even extended it to the rabbits when my MIL tried to feed them CARROT CAKE last weekend. *(Yes, I know how you feel about the rabbits. Just keep in mind that *I* say Feb-RU-ary.)

  4. Exersaucers scare ME. Haha. My neighbor was wearing SHORTS the other day when it was about 30 degrees. I guess you know it’s been a cold winter when that happens. Still. :P(I also hate when people say Feb-U-ary.)

  6. Bay Alert! Baby Alert!Have I been away that long? How old is she now? Also, you have now made me self-conscious every time I say Feb-U-ary. According to MY Webster’s Dictionary, both pronunciations are correct. But I know that doesn’t make it any easier on the ears for ya. 😉

  8. Maggie constantly changes her clothes too. I don’t care either… I’m just happy she can dress herself!I hate Feb-U-ary as much as I hate West-Ren (as a local weather girl likes to say – I even emailed the station!)

  9. ugh i hate febUary too :Pand from a medical/developmental perspective, i’m not a fan of exersaucers. if the baby can’t stand up on her own already (i don’t know if she can or not), they can cause inadequate development of her leg muscles. 😛

  10. Really? February is pronounced with the “R”? I don’t know that I’ve ever heard someone pronounce it that way. Not that people go around talking incessantly about the month of February anyway.
